How much does a :60 second spot on the Olympics cost? Because we got ours for free. Hopping on the global love wagon for the Jamaican Bobsled Team as they prepared to race in the Olympics, we created The Bobsled Song, a fight song (or love song?) intended to be synced with the actual course itself, giving fans a shared experience while sending positive vibes the team's way. Because we couldn't afford to access Olympic footage of the track to show how the song syncs, we resorted to some Jamaican ingenuity and created an 8-bit animated video for demonstration purposes, replete with dancing papayas, drumming rastas and all the charm and wit of the most amazing island in the world. The result was so adored that three days later, NBC cut Olympic footage of our team racing down the track into the song and aired it during their prime time broadcast.
